HR Manager – Logistics
Location: Southern – relocation available
Salary: £38-50,000 + benefits

The incumbent will act as a change agent and true Business Partner for the leadership team for the logistics centrei. We seek an HR Generalist, with supply chain experience, who is searching for an opportunity to implement change, foster new ideas and position this facility to succeed in achievement of business goals. Experience in a Union environment is essential. Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of a team-based, high performance culture is an imperative. We are not only searching for an HR expert, but a business professional as well.
• Develop and implement a team-based HR strategy for Logistics Centre that is aligned with Regional & National HR strategy.
• Partner closely with the Regional HR Manager not only as an HR leader but a business professional.
• Serve as a key member and an advisor to the Logistics Centre Leadership Team.
• Be the liaison with Supply Chain HR initiatives and site leadership in all aspects of Union relations.
• Provide coaching and execution support to management on people issues.
Oversee all people management processes for the location (e.g. hiring, training, compensation and benefits, promotions, HR communications etc.).
Ensure that training and development planning and implementation supports real business needs and that the business is developing a strong bench of talent for local and national opportunities.
• Implement a clear strategy for Employee Communication through the year across the organisation in cooperation with the Site HR initiatives.
• Participate in the development of Regional HR initiatives with Supply Chain HR Managers.
• Proactively lead the talent assessment process, supporting succession planning and career planning activities of top talent and performance management.
Provide input into Regional HR policy development and sharing of best practice
The person:
• Degree educated or equivalent ideally
• CIPD qualified ideally
• Proactive, results-oriented business person with a successful career track in human resources; within Logistics, FMCG or supply Chain.
• Must have professional experience in Industrial relations working with and negotiating with unions.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal direction - takes initiative, is a self starter and is proficient at establishing internal relationships.
• Proven leadership, communication and project management skills.
• Ability to be flexible, adapt quickly to changing circumstances and develop creative solutions while building consensus among different functional groups.
• Strong experience as an HR Generalist in a supply chain setting with full HR Generalist responsibilities (Recruitment, OD, Compensation, Benefits, etc.)
