More than 300 jobs have been axed after the off-licence company Wine Cellar went into administration.
The firm, which operated 170 stores in the North of England, has managed to sell 109 off-licences to EFB Retail saving 640 jobs, but 320 workers have been made redundant.
The deal with EFB Retail has also secured the jobs of a further 60 staff members at Wine Cellar's head office.
Bill Dawson, partner in the reorganisation services practice at Deloitte which is running the administration, said: "Unfortunately about 320 employees have been made redundant. We will be working closely with the Redundancy Payments Office to provide support for these staff."
