HR Moves: Barclays Bank, the Institute of Leadership and Management, Jurys Inn

A round-up of the latest HR appointments.

Ray Harrison has been appointed to the newly created role of head of training and development for the consumer affairs division of Barclays Bank. Harrison was previously head of training for Barclaycard and has held a number of senior training roles within the financial services industry.

The Institute of Leadership and Management has announced that Charles Elvin is its new chief executive. He joins from the Open University where he was director of the business-to-business division. Prior to that, Elvin led the British Standards Institution's global commercial learning and training business and has also held senior roles in a number of blue-chip companies.

Sam Shepherd has taken on the role of group HR manager at hotel chain Jurys Inn, where she will report to HR director Jennifer Lee. Previously, Shepherd worked for Tesco Ireland as head of HR for retail and played a key role in the restructuring of the in-store management teams.
