Proven techniques for planning, structuring and adding greater impact to any form of communication - whether it’s a presentation, a one-to-one conversation or a written document - are highlighted in a new video-based training resource available from Video Arts.
Called Make Effective Communication 2nd Nature, the new resource gives five key techniques to make any content compelling, by explaining what works generically. It shows how to plan what you want to communicate and relate it to your audience; how to clarify your messages and structure your points; how to communicate with impact and flair and how to close to drive action.
Available as a 30-minute video seminar, with a 24-page digital workbook containing embedded video clips, the resource can be used by trainers or delivered by organisations as an in-house programme. It includes a delivery script; a PowerPoint presentation with embedded video clips and exercises; sample emails with video clips to recruit participants, as well as posters and screensavers to reinforce the key messages. The resource has been designed so that anyone - even non trainers - can deliver the programme without loss of quality. The learning can therefore be delivered to large groups of people very quickly.
Martin Addison, CEO of Video Arts, said: “Communication is fundamental to human relationships and to effectiveness in all walks of life. This resource provides tried and tested techniques and principles that can be applied to all forms of communication. Many organisations have found that it’s not practical to buy in face-to-face training on this subject for all members of staff. However this resource contains a kit that line managers and team leaders can use to cascade the learning internally. They can deliver their own training programmes to the same standard as an external facilitator but for a fraction of the price.”
The new resource is presented by Richard Jacobs of training company 2nd Nature Learning, who also wrote the content.
“If you ask people what needs to change to improve their organisation, the answer is invariably communication,” he said. “This resource was developed out of a cutting edge, face-to-face training programme which we delivered to over 100,000 people. It’s now in a format that’s much more easily accessible. The key messages are universally applicable, whatever the context of the communication. It will help individuals to be clearer, more concise and more effective in their communications, which in turn will greatly benefit their organisation.”
Accessible online via a PC, tablet or smartphone, the video seminar and digital workbook for Make Effective Communication 2nd Nature can be licensed through the Video Arts digital library. The resource can also be rented digitally from £195.
“Providing a template that people can use to deliver their own learning, makes it easier for organisations to achieve a critical mass of change very quickly,” said Richard Jacobs. “Essentially, this resource offers you ‘culture change in a box’.”
