Hudson, the recruitment and HR consultancy firm, has quietly closed down its outplacement service for employers.

The company, whose consulting arm employs 400 people across Europe, has decided to focus on other consultancy services, such as talent management and assessment.

A Hudson spokeswoman said it wanted to "be known" for its talent management services, which were performing better financially than other consulting services.

The closure of the outplacement service, which helped people who have left employment to find new jobs, has resulted in eight redundancies, the spokeswoman said. All contracts with employers will be completed, she added.
