Olympic committee hunts for HR director

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games has advertised for an HR director to report directly to the CEO

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has advertised for an HR director to report directly to the CEO.

The new HR director will be paid a six-figure salary and be responsible for growing the current 80-strong workforce to more than 70,000 by 2012.

LOCOG, chaired by Lord Sebastian Coe, is responsible for managing and staging the London 2012 Games and will oversee the preparatory work at the Olympics Park site in London's Docklands.

LOCOG, working alongside the Olympic Delivery Authority and the International Olympic Committee, will also manage awarding contracts for a range of areas, including marketing and sponsorship, finance, sport and infrastructure and legal.

The HR director, reporting to the recently-appointed CEO Paul Deighton, is expected to make LOCOG the destination of choice for attracting the diversity and talent necessary to implement the Olympic vision.

The closing date for applications is 10 February.
