Engineers jobs boom as BT creates 1,300 new jobs

BT jobs bonanza as need for engineers grows.

BT is creating 1,300 jobs as part of a £1bn upgrade of telephone lines across the UK.

Under the plans, £100m will be invested across the UK over the coming 12 months.

The investment drive is part of efforts by the telecoms giant's Openreach division to improve local area networks.

BT said it would be taking on new engineers to install, repair and upgrade telephone lines and maintain roadside telecoms equipment.

"This major investment in infrastructure and new engineers will help us in the continuing improvement in service to our customers and end users," the company said.
