Law firm Nabarro wins best undergraduate internship award at The Target National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2007

A City-based law firm has picked up the award for best undergraduate internship/vacation programme at The Target National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2007.

Law firm Nabarro beat off a shortlist including Barclays Capital, BP, Deutsche Bank, IBM Extreme Blue, and National Grid.

In 2006, 21 of the 24 training contract offers made were to Nabarro Summer Scheme participants, with a 100% acceptance rate.

The panel of judges awarded the prize based on the following criteria: innovation and best practice in the design, structure, implementation and evaluation of the programme, quality of work carried out by students, and student responses.

Simon Johnston, senior partner at Nabarro, said: “We are very proud of our internship programme, and are constantly reviewing it to ensure it provides our graduates with the best possible training. We’ve worked hard to make Nabarro a great place to learn, as the development of our trainees and promotion from within is a key to our growth.”

Five other awards were presented at the ceremony held at London’s Hilton hotel on Park Lane:

• IBM UK was named as graduate employer of the year for achieving their clear objectives in the recruitment, training, development and retention of graduates.
• Lovells - for the second year running - won best graduate recruitment website for its user-friendly site, which contains a fantastic, lively content designed in a clear, attractive style.
• KBC Financial Products won the best student marketing campaign for organisations recruiting fewer than 50 graduates for its a carefully positioned, creative, off- and online marketing.
• Royal Bank of Scotland won the best student marketing campaign for organisations recruiting more than 50 graduates for its innovative, intelligent, and visually strong campaigns.
• IBM UK was also recognised for the way in which it encouraged diversity and equality of opportunity within its organisation, winning the AGCAS diversity award.
