Financial and business services jobs account for more than half of new positions created over the past decade, a new report has found.
Auditing firm Ernst & Young found that the financial and business services sector now employs nearly 30% of the workforce compared with 14% in 1980, overtaking the manufacturing sector.
Ernst & Young forecasts this sector will continue to grow at 4% or more annually up to 2010, following a yearly average increase of 3% since 1997.
