HR professionals need to switch off out of hours

Answering your mobile and e-mails at all times of the day and night? (Letters, Personnel Today, 1 May). Organisations need to understand that we don't get paid to work 24 hours a day.

If the profession doesn't get over its obsession with being on the board and sitting in an office plotting strategy - and transferring our jobs to line managers - someone is going to ask just what they are paying us for.
