Control Risks Screening, the global employee background screening provider, today announced their membership of a newly formed Industry Association set up for the European employment screening industry.

The new association will be known as the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) International.

NAPBS was founded in 2003 in the US, to give the pre-employment screening industry the ability to effectively demonstrate its competence, reliability and willingness to adopt standards and promote best practises within the industry.

Already members of both the original US association, via its sister company American Background Information Services, and the more recently launched Asia Pacific association; Control Risks Screening is set to help shape the future of the Industry in all three regions through their membership and active participation.

With intense pressure on employers when making recruitment decisions; a competitive employment market; growth of legislation and regulations; and increased globalisation, there is now a much greater demand for employment screening globally, hence the expansion of NAPBS on an international scale.

Jonny Cray, Managing Director of Control Risks Screening, EMEA comments:

“We believe NAPBS plays a key role in monitoring and improving standards within the background screening industry, and welcome their expansion into Europe. We have seen the success of NAPBS in the US, and more recently Asia-Pacific, and we are looking forward to contributing to similar success here in Europe”
