Standard Life appoints Mike Conway as group HR director

Financial services giant Standard Life has appointed Mike Conway as group HR director.

Conway has been working in The Hague as vice-president of resourcing and development at Royal Dutch Shell since 2005.

He joined Shell in 2001 after a 25-year career with fellow oil firm BP. Conway has also worked in Japan, the US and Aberdeen.

From 3 November, he will sit on the Standard Life group executive committee, reporting directly to group chief executive Sandy Crombie.

Standard Life also recently appointed Jackie Hunt, currently chief financial officer at insurer Norwich Union, to the position of deputy finance director.
