Trash TV host Jeremy Kyle is set to front a government-backed series aimed at getting the long-term unemployed back to work, according to reports.
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) officials are said to be in talks with ITV over the show, provisionally titled Jeremy Kyle Gets Britain Working.
Judge Alan Berg last year branded The Jeremy Kyle Show "bear baiting" after sentencing a man who headbutted a fellow guest on the programme.
A DWP spokeswoman told The Observer: "We want to use our communications as effectively and efficiently as possible to motivate and support people into work.
"We have appointed an agency to explore advertising-funded programming but no decisions have been made."
