Business services company Grass Roots has launched Get Green, a new e-learning programme that provides Corporate Responsibility executives with a practical tool aimed at engaging employees with their company’s carbon reduction programme.

Specifically designed to arouse curiosity and engage the audience, the learning module features interactive visual content designed to raise employees’ awareness of the impact of their activities at work and at home, and encourage them to change their behaviours for the future.

“With the government’s Carbon Reduction Commitment coming into force in April 2010, businesses are being forced to take the education of their employees in this area, seriously – if they don’t they could face financial penalties”, commented Grass Roots’ e-learning expert, Alick Miskin. “Get Green has been conceived as an affordable and effective tool to help organisations on their journey to meet the government’s targets. There’s no doubt too, that future contracts in both the public and private sectors, will require that tendering parties be able to demonstrate their compliance in this area and we feel that employees hold the key to companies achieving these objectives.”

Grass Roots already operates a popular diversity awareness e-learning programme and Miskin claims that Get Green, as well as being competitively priced, meets similar criteria in terms of its accessibility, fun factor and importantly, its measurability. 

The Get Green module is a cornerstone of carbonreductionadvice.com, a Grass Roots ‘green issues’ employee engagement portal. The portal includes communication, recognition and reward offers, also designed to support companies in their green agenda engagement programmes.
