The End of the Cold War

July 25, 2007

A truly historic event occurred today.

After 18 months of ignoring a particular agency after a row between them and my predecessor, I held out the olive branch of peace today, and welcomed them in from the cold.

The original row was to do with fees, something we are very tough negotiators on. I won't go into details, but they thought we had agreed one thing, we thought another, but no one had any written proof either way. It was, as some may say, a right old mess.

The argument did not really concern me at the time, but ever since I had been asked to toe the party line on the matter.

Today, as I was faced with impending failures to recruit people on time, I decided enough was enough. This agency had worked miracles before, so why cut off my nose off to spite my face?

Needless to say, the decision did not go down overly well with others in the department. You can't please all of the people all of the time though, and when this agency save the day, as I'm confident they will, no doubt I'll be a hero once again.

However, if it all goes horribly wrong I guess I'll just have to get my coat...
