While his political views may divide opinion, there is little doubt that when Sir Bob Geldof uttered the immortal line, "I don't like Monday's", he was expressing a pretty universal view.
Today, this feels particularly true.
After several days spent blissfully away from the troubles of work, today saw me return crashing to Earth.
I think deep down I knew how bad it was going to be when I attempted to open my email inbox. When it takes longer than a few seconds you know you're in for a fair few messages, but when it runs into minutes you start to give up all hope of a normal day. Especially when the 'unread' column then displays the number '227'...
Then come the queries, about pointless things that you didn't care about 10 days ago when you were last in work, cared even less about whilst on holiday, and successfully erased from your memory with a substance I believe is commonly known as alcohol.
Attempting to recall anything pre-holiday really was a painful and, to be honest, largely unsuccessful task today.
Sadly, it was a task that seemed to dominate the day and thus ruined any chance of getting on with the bits that I could recall.
Maybe I should have just kept a list...
