A Fruitless Exercise

It's been 5 days since our job advert went up in a very widely read publication.

As a result (and as you may have read previously), the last few days have been manic.

The phonelines have not stopped ringing, and the postman has had trouble getting all of our mail to us.

However, when you consider the following breakdown of this extra 'traffic', it does seem we have spent a not insignificant amount of money on a completely fruitless, maybe even counter-productive task.

Whilst we have had approximately 9,768 phone calls and 1,245 brochures from advertisement and recruitment agencies, I can literally count the amount of contact with potential candidates on the fingers of one hand.

The sum total of no phone enquiries and 3 CVs is somewhat depressing.

I can only hope for a sackful of CVs tomorrow. Actually, maybe I should be careful what I wish for...
