Welcome to Hell

October 17, 2007

I think it was plain for all to see that I was not looking forward to the Global Conference that has taken place at work over the past couple of days.

However, any pessimism I may have had beforehand was not enough to prepare me for how truly hellish it has been.

Everything else in my workload has literally had to be put on hold whilst I make last minute hotel and restaurant reservations, compile commerative CDs at 2 minutes notice, arrange countless activities, ensure that coffee is kept flowing at a rate of knots, and even tie people's shoe laces (yes, really).

No doubt today will be spent sorting out any lose ends from the conference.

Then it's the small matter of all that other work that needs to be done, 'trivial' matters such as recruitment and disciplinaries that have been ignored so far this week...
