It seems that we are not the only department in our company with a few communication issues at the moment.
In a meeting with a manager of another department I ended up playing agony uncle as I listened to another tale of woe.
For a couple of years, the individual has coveted a senior management title, and made no secret of it.
Imagine their surprise when business cards were delivered to their department showing the senior managers title, but a different name...
Brilliantly, the individual's director had neglected to tell them that someone was transferring from head office, with effect from next week, and essentially becoming their boss and blocking the most obvious route of career progression.
I can understand why they were a bit miffed...
