Communication breakdowns are often cited as factors behind relationships failing.
It is fair to say the current lack of communication in our office could have a similar effect in the work environment.
Today we had an important visit on site, for which our whole HR team was supposed to be on hand to lay out a buffet lunch for the visitors.
I was already somewhat annoyed by the prospect of having to break my day up to do this, but this was nothing compared to my utter anger when it turned out that I was the only one available to not only set-up, but also host and tidy away the lunch.
An hour of my day was wasted whilst everyone else was apparently in a meeting I had no idea about.
There used to be a time when I knew everything that was happening in our office, which tends to help in the general scheme of things.
Those days currently seem like a distant memory...
