The Rumour Mill

News travel very quickly in the workplace, especially when it’s bad.

Unfortunately, It also tends to become more and more inaccurate the further it gets away from the original source.

Today was a fine example.

We had to call an ambulance for one of our employee’s who had had a funny turn and was very faint.

Not being a medical expert, I personally wouldn’t want to guess what was wrong with the individual.

However, it became very obvious that not everyone shares my views as the day progressed.

By the end of it, the individual had gone from having fainted, to having had a stroke, to finally having had a heart attack.

We currently still do not know exactly what happened but the signs are that it was not as serious as the final 2 rumours.

The rumour mill is a truly strange thing…
