Bah, Humbug!

Earlier this week I was bemoaning the lack of festive spirit shown by one of our Executive Managers.

I'm sad to say that today I joined him in his scrooge-esque ways.

It all started so nicely. I suggested that we should get a small gift for our canteen, cleaning and security contract staff, which was accepted as a good idea.

I also volunteered to pop out on my lunch break to get bottles of wine, the present of choice.

That's where it all started to go wrong.

It took an assistant at a well known UK supermarket the best part of 15 minutes to tell me that they had run out of bottle bags and bottle carriers.

'Try something new today'. Well, yes, waiting around for no apparent reason was quite new to me I suppose...

I then went to another supermarket that was similarly useless.

By the time I got back to the office I really wished I hadn't bothered.

I feel like such a hypocrite...
