Roast Turkey with all the Trimmings

It has been an almighty struggle to stay awake this afternoon.

Has it been one of those painful, monotonous afternoons of inputting inane data, which tends to happen every so often? No.

Instead, my struggle to stay awake has emanated from a lunch of epic proportions.

Yes, today was our canteen Christmas lunch.

Usually this wouldn’t really warrant a mention, but I was treated to a highly amusing sight whilst salivating in the queue for my Turkey.

Having collected his food, one of my colleagues decided what he really needed was a nice bit of bread sauce.

However, unknown to him the canteen had not prepared any, and what I was watching him pour all over his food was actually brandy sauce, destined for the collection of Christmas puds that awaited us for dessert.

The look on his face as he took his first bite will remain with me for quite some time…
