Welcome Back

After 11 days of filling my time with typical festive 'over-indulgence', it has been a struggle to get back into the swing of things at work today.

It's fair to say that, as is often the case, the start to the day really set the tone for the remainder of it.

After making sure I was in nice and early so as to try and avoid the usual madness that surrounds the first day back after a break, I was confronted with something of an issue; I could not remember the password to my computer.

It's fair to say that the 30 minutes or so that I spent awaiting the arrival of our IT team were somewhat frustrating and embarrassing.

There is very little that I can do without PC, not least because I keep all of my diary notes reminding me exactly what I'm meant to be doing on my electronic, computer based diary, rather than in the traditional paper form.

Perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt from this...

This is exactly why I type up a password list in size 40 font and tape it to the outside of the door to my office. It is titled, "Human Resources Passwords to Highly Confidential Information". It's a great system!!
