A Guide to How (Not) to Answer Interview Questions

I’ve had an interesting day of interviewing potential candidates for one of our vacancies today.

2 in particular stand out, but not for all the right reasons…

The first candidate I saw this morning was a very confident young woman, who by and large did interview quite well.

However, one thing did amaze me: her liberal use of bad language during the course of the interview.

I’m no prude and am certainly not offended by such language, but surely you would make sure you offered a completely professional view of yourself during an interview? At least we got an honest view of her I suppose…

The other candidate that amused me was a slightly nervier gentleman, who despite his nerves managed one of the most brilliantly arrogant responses to a question I have ever come across.

When asked, “What do you consider your weaknesses to be”, he swiftly replied, “I don’t have any”.

You have to admire such an answer…
