A new cure for Insomnia: Counting car parking spaces

It’s been a long old day.

This afternoon in particular has seen me struggle to stay awake.

Rather than too many late nights, I’m blaming the activity I was reduced to at lunchtime; counting car parking spaces.

Our business runs 24 hours a day, and as such we have employees starting and finishing at various times throughout the day.

Lunchtime is the busiest changeover period, and has, in recent weeks, been causing a bit of havoc, for various reasons.

The basic problem is that while for most of the day there is ample car parking space for everyone, come the half hour period at lunch there are nowhere near enough spaces.

This leads to double parking, illegal parking, and all sorts of fun and games.

Apparently it’s up to us in HR to sort this problem out, hence my dynamic research methods today…
