You may recall that I was involved in an interview recently where one of our Managers asked the immortal question, “Are you actively trying to start a family?”
It was a cringe-worthy moment, and obviously I cut down the question before the candidate had a chance to answer.
The candidate in question was successful in her interview and started with us last Tuesday.
However, alarm bells started ringing for me when she took an incredible amount of time filling in her health questionnaire during her induction, openly admitting that there was quite a lot wrong with her.
2 days later, these fears were somewhat realised when she phoned in sick, and she was not seen again until yesterday.
Upon her return she brought some wonderful news with her.
Yes, you’ve guessed it. She’s pregnant.
You really couldn’t make this up…
