HR Hartley 1, Senior Management 0

A few weeks ago I was accused by one of our most senior managers of losing some very important paperwork.

At the time, a lot of fuss was made by him as he attempted to portray himself as some sort of saviour for having saved electronic copies of the paperwork (as if that was an unusual thing to do...).

I was adamant at the time that I had never had the paperwork, but my reputation for being slightly messy preceded me and my protestations fell on deaf ears.

Being the man that I am, I took this on the chin, and it must have done me some good in the karma stakes as today the senior manager in question came to see me... along with the original paperwork that he had just found in his desk.

I could have chosen to rub his nose in it, but decided instead to take the high road and look quietly smug all afternoon.

It has been noted though, and if I ever need an example of why my word should be treated as gospel I won't hesitate to use this one.
