Key Performance Indicators: The New Bane of My Existence?

As we have entered the new financial year, we our now adhering to a new set of KPI targets.

Up until yesterday, we thought we were continuing with the same as the previous few years, in relation to absence, employee turnover and health and safety.

That was until our MD stuck his oar in...

Every so often he gets a bee in his bonnet about a particular subject, and seemingly it is the turn of training now.

As this falls under my current remit, I have suddenly found myself being pestered by him on an almost hourly basis.

One thing he is particularly keen on is a KPI for training, so I have spent the day, along with my boss, coming up with one that is worthwhile but will not require a ridiculous amount of time and effort to measure.

Our proposal has gone to the MD for his consideration, I have no doubt that he won't hold back with his views tomorrow morning...
