Employee Satisfaction Surveys: More Trouble Than They're Worth?

June 17, 2008

It's that time of year when our Employee Satisfaction Survey is unleashed upon our employees.

The yearly ritual of handing out these surveys and then ignoring what comes back on them is getting somewhat tiresome, but there is always the slim hope that this year will be different.

However, given the response to our notice that the survey will be out this week, I hold out little hope of that...
As with all employee notices, an announcement was put up on the company noticeboard.

Literally within 30 minutes of it being placed, it was brought to our attention that it had been defaced, with someone 'cleverly' rendering the title to read 'Employee Dissatisfaction Survey'.

I guess we should have seen it coming.

Next year we'll definitely be calling it an Employee Opinion Survey...

Well if the company isn't acting on the results of these surveys, what do you expect??? Why waste everyone's time with such a pointless exercise?
