Tip for Application Forms: Stick to the Truth!

In a scene reminiscent of last weeks 'Apprentice', we discovered a couple of days ago that an employee who has been with us for just over a year told a lie on his application form in order to gain a job with us.

Needless to say we have not been at all impressed by this revelation. I for one do not take too kindly to being made to look stupid.

Therefore the individual concerned was hauled in to a disciplinary meeting with his manager and I today.
It's fair to say I'm usually a fairly model professional in disciplinaries, as we all know we need to be.

Today, however, I revelled in the 'bad cop' role made famous in multiple Hollywood productions. I don't think I've ever given someone such a grilling.

In the end, despite wanting nothing more than to sack him (he's had more of his fair share of disciplinary issues since joining us), we felt we couldn't quite justify it on this occassion.

However, one more slip up and he will be out of the door so quick his feet will not touch the ground...
