Assistance Needed!

Those of you who have been reading regularly (thanks!) will know I have recently been in the market for a new assistant.  Well, she's here.  Due to her 3 week holiday she hasn't had a handover with her predecessor and yours truly has been manning the guns for a while.

I'm sure some of you have been here before - the endless questions and the certain knowledge that you would get it quicker if you did it yourself but gritting your teeth because you know if you don't go through it with her no-one else will, bright smile 'I'm being supportive honest!' while stressing about the pile of work on your desk that isn't getting done and cursing your last assistant for leaving you in your head while repeating 'it will be worth it' like a mantra over and over under your breath, etc etc......

On a positive note, she has at least got a basic HR qualification if a little lacking in experience, she's bright, perky and willing (for the moment), and has the bouncy (but slightly irritating) over-enthusiasm of the aspiring young professional that thinks they are about to change the world single-handed.  Bless.  Many moons ago (and a few - ok several - pounds lighter) that was me.  Sigh.
