The eyes have it

Patterns in the iris can give away the secrets of an individual's personality
Guru brings you news from the land of safe cars and flatpack furniture.

Those crazy Swedes seem to have stumbled across a major breakthrough that could spell the end for those unreliable recruitment interviews.

According to BBC News, a team from Orebro University have found that people's eyes really are windows to their souls.

Patterns in the iris can give away the secrets of an individual's personality, they claim. It's all to do with pits and furrows - those people with more pits are likely to be tender, warm and trusting. And those with more furrows were likely to be neurotic and impulsive with addictive tendencies.

The team, led by Dr Matt Larsson a behavioural scientist, said: "These findings support the notion that people with different iris configurations tend to develop along different trajectories in regards to personality.

"Differences in the iris can be used as a biomarker that reflects differences between people."

So there you have it - Guru's advice is to sack your entire recruitment team and hire a couple of opticians instead for a more reliable in-sight (sorry!) into the social abilities of your future hires.
