Guru's extraordinary MySpace experience continues to amaze and amuse in equal measure.
You can become Guru's virtual friend if you like what you see on Guru's MySpace home page. So far Guru has 'achieved' 110 friends. Many are human resources professionals. Others are a bit more random - even bordering on the famous.
But Guru's latest MySpace friend request is worthy of comment. A young (and not unattractive) lady called Elaina Maxwell contacted Guru to invite him to an event in which she is participating.
You see Elaina (aka Beef) is an MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter, and is about to take part in Melee on the Mountain at the Table Mountain Casino in Friant, California, where she is fighting Michelle Mayer (out of Fresno). And Guru has been offered a ringside seat.

Laney Max, as she is also known, seems like a charming girl (as you can see from the above picture, in which she is pounding her opponent's face into the canvas).
But it's not all mindless violence. Elaina shares some of her profound life philosophies on her MySpace biog, which reads... [Guru comments in square brackets]
Basically, all I do is train in martial arts, sleep, and eat; can life get any better than this? If you are at all interesting, then I'll spend my spare time with you. [But, if fighting, sleeping and eating is all she does, how much spare time can she spare for me?]I love dragon fruit [what?], espresso, and egg whites [yum]; organic ketchup is the best.
Energy goes where attention flows!
Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon!
Sadly Guru cannot make the 'melee'; and to be honest he's not entirely convinced that Elaina is the type of girl he could bring home to meet his mother. But it's lovely to be asked; and Elaina doesn't look like a woman who'll accept no for an answer.
