As a young scamp, Guru was hailed by his classmates for his ability to drop a pencil at the right time and place to maximise the view of Miss Robinson bending over to pick it up. It provided entertainment for the masses - always Guru's calling in life - but also did nothing to harm attendances, concentration and ultimately exam results.
So Guru was dismayed to hear that £2,500-per-term Stockport Grammar School, rather than praising one of its teachers for raising its profile, had suspended her from work.
Sarah Green was suspended after a very artful - some may say racy - video advert for workman clothing line Scruffs started doing the rounds among students. Let's just say if you were a fifteen-year-old boy at a private school you would be rushing out to buy Scruffs jackets after seeing this.
But the point is you would also be racing to Miss Green's geography lesson - and in all probability staying behind to ask for extra homework. And besides being a great way of connecting with the students, the advert was made before Green was a teacher, while she was an, ahem, actress.
Anyway, it seems she was only acting in accordance with the school's ethos. After all, its evocatively named headmaster, Mr Chicken, says on its website: "We are committed to making the process of learning stimulating and enjoyable."
Well, Guru very much enjoyed the advert, and was undoubtedly stimulated. Here's a link to it, just in case you want to know what all the fuss is about.
Be warned: the advert contains strong sexual images, and buying Scruffs workwear does not gaurantee sex with your geography teacher.
