Guru would be the first to admit he did not always fully embrace the wonderous potential of the world wide web. In fact, he may in the not so distant past have uttered phrases that included the words internet, black death, rather and have.
However, even Yours Truly can stay firm no longer in the face of such overwhelming evidence that the internet is the best thing to happen to HR humour since the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development gave its opinion on getting job applicants to dance to Jackson Five tracks.
Last week, Guru brought you nothired.com, a brilliant site where HR professionals share their recruitment nightmares with the world. This week, a website on the flip side of that same gold-plated coin was brought to Guru's attention by Disciple Louise.
Firedworkers.com is where dissafected employees go to rant about their sackings. From the McDonald's worker who had a burger thrown at him by his boss, to the clothes shop employee whose manager was given sexual favours by a customer in order to fire her, it is all here in its seedy, sordid glory.
Guru's favourite, however, is this bizarre and worrying tale - wait for the last line.
"There was a person that I worked with who I would joke with all the time. We were cool, we never had any discrepancies, but this one day he was really annoying me! Im not racist at all but I like to joke around a bunch. So I called him a f***ing Jew. He wasn't mad at me then, but two weeks later I got called into the office and was fired. The worst thing is that he wasn't even Jewish."
If you are an HR professional of faint disposition, do not spend your lunchbreak reading through this site. You will never look at your employees - or their line managers - in the same way again.
