So all those City bankers crying into their Bollinger and considering the ultimate indignities of downsizing to an 18-bedroom Surrey mansion or even worse selling one of the eight Ferraris to keep Little Lucy's three ponies thankfully have a lifeline.
Yep, the first credit crunch power ballad - written for bankers by bankers - has hit the airwaves, or at least the bargain bin at Tesco.
John Lennon it ain't, but then the Beatles never got caught between short sellers and the sub prime crisis, so what would they know?
No, this is truly a song for our times. Sung to the tune of Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive', it has been written by City news site hereisthecity.com for Merrill Lynch chjief executive John Thain. Here is just a flavour:
