Catherine Hakim, doctor of sociology at the London School of Economics, argues that as society becomes more sexualised, greater financial benefits accrue to the sexy. She's even coined the phrase 'erotic capital' as a way of defining these specific attributes.
And Guru thought an erotic capital was Paris, Amsterdam or Prague.
"People who possess an above-average amount of erotic capital are more persuasive, are more often perceived as honest and competent," says Hakim. "They find it easier to make friends, get jobs, get married, and tend to earn 15% more on average as well."
Guru wonders whether erotic capital management will become a new strand of HR practice in the future - a more sexy, exciting version of human capital management. Perhaps we will begin to see seminars at conferences on ECM and consultants offering their expertise in the field?
Guru reckons he has spotted a lucrative niche market.
