Are you overweight, lack confidence and afraid of your colleagues taunting you behind your back? Business bitch Steve Miller is on hand to answer your dilemma.
Dear Natalie,
Due to my excessive eating habits, I've never had the confidence to follow my ambitions.Although I have a Masters in Russian and French, I have spent the majority of my career working in a call centre as my food addiction has always ruled my life.
Now that I have it more under control though I am looking for work which suits my experience, but I'm still worried as my obsessive eating has really affected my confidence and I would be too embarrassed to socialise with new colleagues, especially at lunchtimes. I'm also scared of piling on the pounds again but want to keep on losing not gaining more as I comfort eat when I'm nervous of new surroundings and people. Help!...
Henry

Steve Miller:
If you have no underlying medical condition or are not suffering from clinical depression then you need to take a tough business bitch approach. Practical advice is that you do the following:
• Go out and buy an item of clothing two sizes smaller than what you currently wear and hang it in the bedroom so that your mind processes it every day.
• Throw out all the rubbish food from the cupboards. Don't give it away.
• Stop looking for ridiculous excuses and blaming other people for being fat. I use the word fat as I am straight talking.
• In the mind be disgusted with being so fat and then smile knowing that you are stimulating your mind to take control over your eating habits.
• Affirm in the mind every day by saying: "I am in control of my eating habits". Post this statement everywhere.
• Get disgusted when you see fat people stuffing their faces through greed. Don't be disgusted with the person. Be disgusted with the action.
• Find a photograph that you don't like of yourself and post it on the fridge. Let the disgust be the motivator.
• Be proud now you have it more under control. Rid yourself of any victim talk that resurfaces.
• When people offer you extra portions or another glass of wine, say to them "no thank you as I do not want to return to being a fat, lazy pig".
• Don't wrap it up - be proud of your success. And remember in the real world employers rarely recruit fat people in front line positions. And who can blame them? Would you really want a pud on the front desk? The good news Henry is that you are going from pud to stud. Well done.
