Smoking cessation | Win a chance to kick the habit

smoking1-blog.jpg Are you stressed, frustrated and need a way to kick your smoking habit but can't? Now is the time to quit!

Life coaches Rosy Maria and Belinda Pestana, of Secret Success, are giving away five free tickets worth £1,500 to a special 'Break the Chain – Quit Smoking’ seminar being held on the 4 August 2007 at the Montague Gardens Hotel, London.

This is a seminar with a twist. Both Rosy and Belinda are trained neuro-linguistic programmers, thought field therapists and they use tapping and hypnotism – depending on the individuals needs. The first session had a 100% success rate.

Rosy Maria comments:

“The new smoking law will act as an incentive for many smokers to quit. But, as with all addictions, we recognise that this is potentially an incredibly difficult time for many hardened smokers. Many see popping out for a cigarette as a relief to stressful times at work, and when trying to give up they can become extremely unhappy. With our seminar, which has proven to be a total success to date, we will use a variety of methods that will allow those who wish to give up the opportunity to walk away from their habit, feeling happier and healthier and increasing their productivity at work.”

Recent figures published by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) revealed that smokers are estimated to cost UK businesses about £5bn per year, through direct costs such as productivity losses due to time taken for smoking breaks, extra sick leave due to smoking, increased health premiums and indirect costs such as increased fire risk, impact on company image, loss of key personnel through smoking-related illnesses and death. However, 72% of smokers surveyed also said that they wanted to quit.

Employers can help their employees to stop smoking, so reducing absenteeism and increasing lost productivity hours by supporting them with the help of these seminars.

Secret Success can also offer this service to any company willing to support their employees in helping them to kick the habit by holding group seminars within the workplace.

Employee case study:

Atlantis Divalenti, who is in her late 30s, used to be a 10-cigarette-a-day smoker. When she was out socialising with friends, her smoking habit would escalate to more than 20 within a matter of hours. After just one session with Life Coaches, Secret Success, Atlantis has now quit smoking.

"With just one session with Secret Success, I am genuinely surprised at how quickly my reaction has changed and that the thought of smoking actually makes me feel sick. I do not have an increased appetite and so I have not gained any additional weight. Now I can comfortably be around people who do smoke and not feel the urge to join in, and it does not bother me all. It’s truly amazing!”

As a trained Clinical Hypnoherapist myself I agree that NLP is an effective method to help the "smokeaholic" quit. However I also believe that there has to be a desire on the part of the smoker to quit. Simply undertaking a series of hypnosis sessions and/or thought field therapy sessions is no guarantee that the smoker will stop.

Sometimes it is a case of taking a practical no nonsense approach. I recall asking a 40 a day smoker that if they had the choice between seeing a loved one again or continuing to smoke which choice would they opt for. They quit there and then.

Smokers are drug addicts no matter how you wrap it up and it is important to offer them information on how to stop. However I am not too certain that business should open its cheque book and fund smoking cessation classes. What next? Ballroom dancing and salsa classes to keep people fit?

Ambreen Mahmood:

i'm preparing to have a baby, doc asked me to quite smoking but i'm finding it very hard. beleive its a good chance for me.

Chris Lawson:

I'm getting married next year and I know my smoking concerns my fiancee. Quitting would be a great way to start our new life together.

Miserable old git:

I've given up smoking so many times it beggars belief.

So far I've tried Allen Carr's video; Allen Carr's book, willpower, accumulating all my butts in a jar of water, writing notes to myself and sticking them around the house, hypnotherapy, patches and gum. I've even gone so far as to visit my parents for a weekend to endure my mother's constant chiding for 48 hours.

And I'm still smoking.

As such I think I would make the perfect person to provide the ultimate test of "Break the Chain – Quit Smoking"

If they would accept the challenge, of course.

Vicky Harrington :

Simply because it's killing me, I can't breath and it stinks. Please HELP!

James Averell:

I am in my 30's and my partner is due to give birth on 4th January, I am desperate to have given up by then.

Danny Brogan:

Lyn Graney:

I am 56 this month and I have smoked for many years. I have tried to give up many times and always failed and gone back. At the beginning of the year I did really well with the help of the nurse at my surgery. In February, diaster struck, I lost my company and then four months later my house. I managed to get the job I have now and the stress levels are going down but I cannot give up this very expensive prop. Please help as I really cannot afford it and I know that my health will suffer long time then I'm back into the strees cycle.

Sarah Gough:

Given this opportunity, I would be very grateful and thankful for helping me to kick a dirty habit I wish I never started.

Guru:

Is Guru allowed to enter? He's just taken up smoking again after 11 years without the evil weed, just so he can take advantage of the new social phenomenon of 'smirting'.

Hello All,

I was reading around some of the posts here and I found interesting things that you guys talk about, I just made a blog about quitting smoking resources and ideas that you might want to check out.
If someone is interested in this topic just go to; http://endthehabitnow.blogspot.com and let me know what you think.

Nancy:

Hi

I really find very interesting what you have here and it would be a pleasure to share my experience. I agree it's not easy to get rid if this grim habit. I tried hypnosis and several other custom methods but none of these worked until the day my friend suggested me to go to a clinic. With the thought that trying this opportunity once is not going to harm me in any way and who knows it may work, i went there (Healthvibes Clinic) one day. They use Bioresonance therapy and i could feel the changes after the very first session of my treatment and today i do not even crave for this. For me it's a great achievement specially since i started smoking at the age of 12 and did so for 20 years. I would sincerely ask anyone who wants to give up smoking and has given up hope with conventional methods please do pay a visit at www.healthvibes.co.uk Finally, I would like to thank you for allowing me to post a comment.
