Office exercise | Office Olympics

Do you have a fitness freak sitting next you at work? Are you that weekend marathon runner?
A recent survey by electronics manufacturer, Siemens, has found that half of the UK business population rarely takes part any physical exercise.

This lack of regular exercise may be contributing to increased levels of stress, ill health and impaired performance in the work place, it says...

Please don't ask me why the research has to be broken up into male and female, but it also revealed that three in 10 female executives did no exercise at all, climbing a fraction to 32% for men.

I have always wanted to be a professional golfer, or athlete because of the lifestyle that comes with it. I am not talking about the five star treatments - champagne and limousines, although that would be fabulous. For me, it's more about the discipline that is required in keeping one's bodies healthy that I admire.

Back in the real world, what responsibility does your employer have in making sure that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, and in doing so, reduce stress levels in the workplace?

Should subsidised gym memberships and pilates classes be compulsory for your employer? And is this enough…leading a horse to water and all that?

Do you have any fitness related office stories - pray tell?
