Some of our Departments have a requirement for a certain gender balance/ratio within their teams. For example Customs requires a certain balance of male and female officers due to a requirement to carry out searches on individuals.

Does anyone have any experience of advertising vacancies with this need in mind?

Also, any other general info on determining if there is a genuine need within a department for an enforced gender balance/ratio and / or any info on cases involving this issue would be appreciated.
