Training Forms Fiona West 17/10/2006 12:05 fiona west@ mcps-prs-alliance co uk

Hello

I am currently evaluating the training forms I send to delegates.

Ihave a "training contract" which compromises of a pre-course form (where the delegate has to let me know their objectives for attending and any concerns they may have about the course).  The second part is used by the delegate to review the course with their manager and work their learning into their job.  The final part, completed three months later, is a review of how the course helped them develop in their role.

Unfortunately people HATE filling out these forms (particularly the latter parts) and it would be easier pulling out their teeth than getting the forms off them!!!!!

The main complaint is that the system is too buearacratic.  when forms are returned it's usually at the last moment (particularly with the pre-course form; which makes it too late to amend course content if needed).

Can anyone PLEASE let me know what they currently do.  How do you ascertain someone's training needs for a course using no (or minimal) forms, and how do you check the new knowledge/skills are incorporated into the delegates work.

This is a matter of some urgency so any help/advice would be really appreciated.

You can respond here or e-mail me direct to:

Many thanks in advance
