Most organisations now are talking about employee engagement and the creation of an 'engaged workforce'. I work for a major retailing and commercial organisation and we are no different. I am looking for some help in some research for an academic assignment I am writing at the moment regarding employee engagement. I am looking for the views of people in HR, or not on employee engagement and why they believe it is of benefit to the organisation. The question has to be asked is it really the engaged employee, or is it the responsibility of the line manager to develop an employee who is motivated and feels in touch with the organisation ? Is this enough ? I am also interested to hear peoples views on 'Why are some employee's more engaged than others ?' . This can be purely views and will serve as discussion, but if you have conducted any research within your own organisations I would be interested in the results, or whether you would be prepared to discuss the results. You can respond here, or you can e-mail me on richard.quinn00@btinternet.com. I am obviously looking into this in my own organisation, but for the purposes of some research of some quality would be interested in other organisations viewpoints from a practioner perspective in HR, or not. Information you provide will be treated confidentialy and anyone contributing who would like a copy of the paper once it is completed in mid-March I will happily supply. Organisation names will be removed. |
