Having recently spoken at two high profile events regarding what Pfizer and myself have done to address the challenges faced by companies operating internationally, CIPD HRD, and JSHRM Mall in Japan, I have come to the following conclusions: 1. Many global companies are stabbing in the dark to find solutions to what that ey see as a short-term problam that will eventually go away. 2. Most global companies are unwilling to invest in addressing this. 3. Almost all global companies blame failure of global projects on poor communication, and then fail to address the issue. 4. Companies in Japan are even more clueless than those in the UK, and companies in the UK are far from on top of the problem. I have a few hints that I would love to pass on as a result of personal experience in this field, but am unwilling to just make them readily available. |
