How to get in to HR Consultancy? kelly 19/07/2007 12:28

I am still in the early stages of my career but know that I would like to take the consultancy route at some point (as soon as possible) but am not sure of the best way to get in to it.

I have an MA in HRM and am about to commence an MA in Employment Law; I have been working in HR for 4 years and have worked in Retail, IT and Professional Services Environment (moved around a bit due to redundancy situations).

I appreciate that to be a consultant I need a lot more experience but can anyone suggest the best route to take? How often to move jobs? Which industries to work in? What kind of roles?

Also, is anyone aware of any Junior Consultant positions/schemes that might mean I could get started quicker!!

Many Thanks for any help!!

Kelly
