HR career in the UK careerfocused 13/02/2008 12:23

Hello all, I am a Turkish national with CIPD qualification and MA HRM degree from a UK university. I've recently been accepted to work in the UK as a highly skilled migrant and I need some advise on my job hunt.

I have over 8 years of human resources generalist experience with good exposure to account management. Over the last 6 years, I have been in the education sector, working as a senior administrator in a language school and have been utilizing my knowledge in the HR field and people management skills.

Now I wish to extend my choices in the UK and consider working in sectors other than education, if possible.

Do HR recruiters prefer to work with candidates having hands on experience in core HR business, ideally from the same industry background? Or candidates from other industries with experience in organisation, administration and people management aspect of the business are also welcomed?

Thank you in advance,
