Hi I recently handed in my notice period (4 weeks as per contract of employment) which my employers confirmed my notice and were happy to allow me to be on Garden Leave which finishes on 22/3/08. I recently over a 1week ago received my P45 which states my last day was 3/3/08 ? With regards to the final salary my employers were happy to pay an advance for march's salary if I handed the company car, lapptop and phone which we agreed and I received ok. My question is whilst is it right they should send my p45 while im and on garden leave which finishes on 22/3/08 and p45 states 3/3/08? This has now caused me a problem in my next employment becuase I have a gap for march and I told them I am working my notice period still. When I give them my 045 they will see my last day was on 3/3/08. ? Can anyone please advise what I can do. I have had a letter confirming I would be on 4 weeks notice period. thanks alot |

I would give your ex boss a call and clarify this as it may have been a breakdown in communication between him/her and Payroll. If you have a letter confirming you will be on 4 weeks notice period/garden leave then clearly something has gone wrong somewhere. |
