Sick notes and sick leave Dot 17/03/2008 14:14

I have been off following surgery November and my GP had signed me off as "should refrain from work until 1st April"

Does this mean I return on the 1st or 2nd?

Also I was originally signed off until 12 March as my employer told me I could use up my remaining annual leave.I am on half pay so all money counts!

However I got a call on 12 March at 4pm to say that was not actually the case and that I should return to work on 13th!

My employer wanted to see for themselves that I was fit for work before I would be allowed to take my annual leave. They also wanted me to do Thursday AND Friday despite the fact that I have an planned phased return agreed with OH and they agreed that I should return 3 days a week at beginning of April after my holidays.

Working Thursday and Friday wouldn't be a phased return!

I have been unable to fight this so have now been signed off until 1st April but manager says I should go back on 1st and I think its the 2nd!
