Hi all

I hope someone can help me with this - I have some HR knowledge but this goes beyond me!

My husband has been employed by a company who install and maintain security systems, for the past year (Company A).  He was recently headhunted, and subsequently offered a job with, a major manufacturer of these systems (Company R).

However, the job offer has now been withdrawn.  This is down to Company A contacting Company R and telling them that they would no longer use their systems if they employ him.  This is worth a substantial amount of money to Company R, who have understandably decided they can't take the risk.

Do we have a case to pursue against Company A?

Many thanks in advance.

Kate,

I am an employment lawyer.

This is horrifically complicated and it sounds like your husband has sadly been caught in the middle of a commercial tiff between A and R.  I would need more information to be able to give you a definitive view but my initial view is that there is possibly very little prospect of a successful claim against A.  As I say however I do need more information.

If you want to discuss this off-line - subject to my being able to advise and not being in conflict - please call me on 08454984565 or email me paulball@eversheds.com.

Paul
